It’s True…Our Coaches and Front Desk Staff Rock!
Sometimes you have staff members who REALLY need to be recognized…..But let’s be honest – at Twisters MOST of the time, we have amazing staff members who deserve to be recognized!! This past week Angie and I ventured off to New Orleans with our Mini S.O.S. Cheer team for their national bid competition, The One: Cheer & Dance Championship. The team’s coach, Miss Abby, as well as our Coach in Training: Coach Kenna attended as well. In addition to the four of us, we surprised the gym manager, Melanie, with plane tickets for Christmas (we knew she loved to travel and wanted to give her more opportunities to see the world…she works REALLY hard and totally deserved to do something amazing!)
So, last Thursday, we took off: Two owners, a head coach and the gym manager. Needless to say, a normal person would be a bit nervous to leave the business with so many key players unavailable to help at a moment’s notice. There was a LOT going on in the 4 days we were gone: 21 Regular Classes, 4 Birthday Parties, 2 Open Gyms, Daytime Playtime, and 16 Batting Cages Appointments to be exact. But my mind was at ease because Front Desk Manager: Lexi had it under control.
She is often referred to by our gym parents as “Sweet Lexi.” If you don’t know her, I’m sure you’d recognize her. Lexi has the most genuine smile and truly loves the kids and parents at the gym. She really gets to know the kids and can often guess what snack bar item they’re wanting before they even say it. She is humble, smart and always looking for ways to improve the systems at the gym. She makes sure your call never goes past the third ring – and she makes sure if she doesn’t know the answer – she can get it for you!
While we were gone, Lexi ran what I lovingly refer to as the “Command Post” : The front desk hub of all operations in the gym. She hasn’t been here for years…in fact, we’ll be celebrating her one year anniversary with Twisters in a few months. But sometimes, you get a team member and you feel like they’ve been here forever. They’re an integral part of the reason you are successful. That’s Lexi. She’s part of our Twisters family. I bet for some of you – she’s part of your family now too.
So, publicly – because she would never let me announce this in front of everyone – I’d like to thank “Sweet Lexi” for all her hard work while we were gone.
